Greens Bayou Trail Phase 3
EHRA assisted the District with obtaining over 30 special recreational easements from homeowners whose property extends across the channel.
Adding Recreational Easements
This project is the third phase of the design and development of a trails system identified as a priority project in the District’s Parks Master Plan. Utilizing underused land within the District, the trail was constructed adjacent a drainage channel and along a pipeline easement to connect to two existing park facilities within the District. EHRA assisted the District with obtaining over 30 special recreational easements from homeowners whose property extends across the channel. EHRA coordinated an interlocal agreement with the Harris County Flood Control District for the construction and maintenance of the trail. The 8-foot wide, 1,500 linear feet of trail was constructed of 6-foot decomposed granite and two 12-inch concrete curbs to match the existing trail. Two 90-foot pedestrian bridges were installed across the channel to provide better access.
