Louetta Road

The project transformed this undeveloped area into a four-lane concrete roadway, complete with a 14-foot median, median openings, and a left turn lane at Telge. This new connection serves to enhance the lives of those who live in the area as it provides improved connectivity that reduces travel times and gives back one of our most valuable resources to the community, time.

Project Overview

New Connection enhances lives

The Louetta road project is best appreciated if you reach back to the site condition prior to its installation.  That’s because it wasn’t there!  The project area was undeveloped between Little Cypress Creek and Telge Road.

The project transformed this undeveloped area into a four-lane concrete roadway, complete with a 14-foot median, median openings, and a left turn lane at Telge.  This new connection serves to enhance the lives of those who live in the area as it provides improved connectivity that reduces travel times and gives back one of our most valuable resources to the community… time.

EHRA was proud to be a part of this project, not only because of its importance to the community, but because as it was delivered on time and within budget, protecting the tax payers dollar.

They delivered the project on time, the community is happy, it is a beautiful project and they did a good job navigating all the different components and entities. I know I can count on them.

Designed to Reduce Congestion & Travel Time

The EHRA team recently completed the final phase of a public infrastructure project located in the Cypress region of Houston on Louetta Road. This critical project combined the engineering and execution expertise of multiple EHRA practice areas that culminated in a vastly improved road and bridge that connects communities, reduces both congestion and travel time and enhances mobility safety for area residents.

The Louetta Road Project, spearheaded by EHRA Public Infrastructure Practice Area Leader Adam Earle, PE, PMP, ENV SP and Public Infrastructure Project Manager Kyle Macy, PE, saw Louetta Road extended from Stablewood Farms Drive to Telge Road as a four-lane concrete boulevard, and double bridges were installed for both eastbound and westbound traffic over Little Cypress Creek. Professional services included predesign of pavement, storm sewer, cross culvert with associated basin extension, sight triangles, pavement marking, signage and storm water quality management, evaluation of hydraulics, hydrology, rights-of-way, environmental assessment, traffic management, utilities, surveying and bid and construction phase services.

During project construction, EHRA implemented a dedicated group to field requests for information, keeping the taxpayers informed and integrating public feedback into project objectives. Additionally, the ability of EHRA professionals from various departments to cohesively work as a single unit resulted in the project being completed three months ahead of the original schedule.

Fluid and consistent communication with area citizens, construction contractors and other partners and subcontractors was vital to the exceptional outcome of this project. The EHRA team also collaborated closely with former Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner, R. Jack Cagle, who shared his thoughts about working with EHRA, stating, “They delivered the project on time, the community is happy, it is a beautiful project and they did a good job navigating all the different components and entities. I know I can count on them.” The EHRA team looks forward to future opportunities to improve the connectivity and quality of life for Houston citizens, just as they did on the Louetta Road Project.
