EHRA conducted a traffic engineering study to identify the impacts of a proposed master development located near the intersection of FM 1488 and Peoples Road in the City of Conroe.
Project totaled 640 acres including 1256 Residential Lots. EHRA designed, created construction plans, publicly bid and preformed Construction management.
EHRA completed a site-specific planning and visioning study for the proposed 470-acre San Jacinto Boulevard District (SJBD) in Baytown, Texas.
EHRA designed an expansion that implemented the installation of a new triplex lift station operating in conjunction with the existing duplex lift station.
The facility features an activated sludge process system. Additionally, the facility is equipped with an emergency standby diesel generator.
The Structures team serves as a dynamic microcosm for the diverse engineering capabilities at EHRA Engineering. Operating within a fast-paced environment, the department manages a continuously revolving portfolio of structural projects, including vehicular and pedestrian bridges, water and wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, junction boxes, retaining walls, weirs and specialized monuments. Executing these complex designs demands significant technical expertise, driving daily collaboration between our internal structural team, other specialized departments at EHRA Engineering and various external consultants and contractors.
Collaboration Within Services
The Structures team partners extensively with our Water & Wastewater Management team to deliver robust structural drawings, calculations and analytical modeling. Utilizing Autodesk Revit for advanced BIM modeling ensures that structural sheets and spatial modifications are updated efficiently alongside dynamic design changes. This integrated workflow supports vital regional infrastructure, including the Harris County MUD 578 WTP Phase 2, WCMUD 46 Lift Station and active design coordination on the WHC MUD 21 WWTP expansion.
Collaborative efforts with our Land Services team include the ongoing construction of Karsten Blvd Bridge, which features a complex 37-degree skew designed to align precisely with the roadway geometry and underlying river flow. Structural design and construction progress continue for Preservation Creek MUD 1 Phase 1 Pinnacle Parkway crossings, Grace Landing Bridge, Bluebonnet Detention Junction Box and Chambers Lake Spillway Weir.
Partnering with the Landscape Architecture team, the department provides structural engineering for public hardscapes, amenities and pedestrian access. Current projects feature a pedestrian bridge in Firethorne West alongside detailed structural details for entrance monuments and amenities across major land developments, including Mirabella, Brazos Bend, Katy Grand Village and Northpark Enclave.
The department frequently addresses public infrastructure updates for District Services, recently completing bulkhead rehabilitation designs at Willowcreek Ranch and initiating the structural design of a pedestrian bridge tied to a drainage redirection project. Additional district support includes structural drawings for the NGCMUD 1 Spillway Channel rehabilitation.
Over the past year, the Structures team has prioritized refining its Autodesk Revit BIM workflow. Developing cross-platform interoperable models has proven essential for the modern construction phase, allowing complex structural details to translate seamlessly from initial schematics to field applications. The team remains dedicated to engineering precision and welcomes all inquiries regarding structural design, calculations and peer plan reviews.
Structures In Everything
When most people think of Structures, bridges or other prominent infrastructure often comes to mind. While those types of projects are a big part of what we do, structural engineering is also embedded in countless facilities and spaces that people rely on every day and may not even realize. As highlighted previously, we work closely with the other services provided here at EHRA Engineering to provide the best work we possibly can and hold true to our One Team value and philosophy. Whether you’re looking at your local park, driving through your favorite master planned community or simply noticing the infrastructure that keeps your community running, remember that behind all of it is a team of disciplines working together. At EHRA, Structures is one piece of that collaboration and an essential part of building the communities we serve.
